Set against the backdrop of the Old World, two adventurers--both seasoned warriors--will quest across a Western Europe ablaze with the turmoil of a newly begun Fourth Crusade. Denz, a holy Templar, and Esteban, a roguish mercenary, may have different origins, but their motivations are the same amidst the danger and despair of a new Crusade, to find the means to deliver themselves from a terrible curse that threatens to consume their immortal souls.

This game brings together the beauty and wonder of medieval Europe and a thrilling adventure of dark fantasy. You will embark on a contentious quest for retribution through five chapters and 40 missions. One of the features in the game is a templar curse, which increases your strength and your ability to perceive hidden things, but at the expense of your humanity. Play with a friend with the Brotherhood of Steel: split-screen or online. Your friend will assume control of the thief, Esteban. The Cursed Crusade offers intense, visceral third-person action. The weapon-based combat engine features more than 90 combos that you can perform with 130-plus available weapons.

The Cursed Crusade takes place between 1199 and 1204 during the Fourth Crusade. The peoples of the Christian Western civilization, driven by the desire for salvation, are trying to invade the Islamic countries and "liberate" the Holy Land. Although the Christians were fighting each other later on which it was against the will of the Pope.

The story of the two main characters Denz de Bayle and Esteban Noviembre takes place right in that historical scenario. Bearing his father's Templar tunic, Denz joins the Fourth Crusade of the Templars - the only way for him to find his father, who has been missing for eight years. Only with his father's help, Denz will be able to take vengeance upon his uncle, who killed Denz's mother and took all of the de Bayle's property.

During an attack by Boniface de Montferrat, one of the numerous historical characters in the game, on the Chateau de Biron in the south-west of France, Denz meets the Spanish thief Esteban Noviembre. They heard that Boniface is in search of a Templar's relic which is supposed to be in custody of Jean de Bayle, Denz's father. De Montferrat uses Denz to find his father so that he can take the relic away from him.

But that is not the only thing that drives Denz and Esteban to find Jean de Bayle: Both of them bear the Templar's Curse which grants them incredible power but will also force them to face eternal damnation when they die. By attending the Fourth Crusade they both hope to clean their souls which would also mean the liberation from the Templar's Curse. Their path leads over southwestern France, Zara and Constantinople to Syria.
